At 11am on 4.25.15 you will find ARCSP at the Out of the Darkness Walk handing out encouragement and water bottles to those walking in memory of loved ones who took their own lives.  We each put on our beads to indicate our loss and our support for those touched by this tragic loss.  Please join us and raise support for the work of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention and their research and training across the USA!

From 7am until 2pm you will find ARCSP at Pioneer Park for the Alaska Health Fair!  We are so pleased that the Golden Heart Rotary helped us with our materials and display for this event. Please stop by to talk and learn about the signs and symptoms of suicide.  You can make a difference!

Online Registration is Open for Alaska Visitor’s Industry Charity Walk!

For the first time Arctic Resource Center for Suicide Prevention will take part in the Visitor Industry’s Charity Walk!  Online registration is open here.  This is a graze through Fairbanks with food stations throughout the walk route.  It is a great family event and starts in the parking lot of Immaculate Conception Church.   100% of the funds designated for ARCSP will come to us!  If you can’t walk, you can still use the link to support ARCSP!  The agency who raises the most, walks first!  Join hundreds of Fairbanksans in supporting their favorite charities!

First Friday Art Show and Silent Auction

May 1, 2015 will be our first annual First Friday Art Show and Silent Auction from 5-8pm.  The event serves as a fundraiser for ARCSP and showcase artists who share our passion for preventing suicide in Alaska.  We are thrilled to have Takenya Rosetta, Lara Poirrier, Devin Huffman and cupcake artist Brooke Underwood join us.  Paige Compton will provide music that she has written especially for our event to bring hope.  Our own Linda Setterberg will display her prayer flags, one for each of the 150 psalms, she accepted the challenge to spend less than one hour a day and use materials she had on hand to complete them.  Please use the back door at Love INC, 818 26th Ave. and come up the stairs!  We will be waiting for you!

Survivors after Suicide Support Group

The second and last Wednesdays of each month from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm, FMH Hospice Services hosts a peer-led Survivors after Suicide Support Group for those who have lost a loved one to suicide.

The second Wednesday of each month support group meets at the Hospice building located at 2001 Gilliam Way about a quarter mile from Fairbanks Memorial Hospital. The last Wednesday of each month support group meets at the ARCSP office located at 818 26th Avenue.

It is a very supportive & encouraging group, desiring survivors not to grieve alone. For more information, please call David Rumph, the Hospice Chaplain, at (907) 474-0311
